About

The Malaria and NTDs Youth Champions South Sudan (MYCSS) is a youth-led network committed to combating malaria and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) through education, advocacy, and community-driven interventions. As part of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) Malaria Youth Champions initiative, MYCSS aligns its strategies with national, regional, and global frameworks to accelerate progress toward malaria and NTDs elimination in South Sudan by 2030. The initiative was launched in partnership with the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) and National NTDs Programme under the Ministry of Health and emphasizes community-led approaches and meaningful youth engagement as pivotal elements in malaria eradication. At the national level, MYCSS aligns with South Sudan’s National Malaria Strategic Plan (2020–2025) and the Health Sector Strategic Plan (2023–2027), integrating malaria and NTD programming into youth-driven interventions.
