About

CAN 1.5°C is a youth-led initiative working at the intersection of climate change, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), and community health. Founded by young advocates from the Pakistan, the initiative emerged from on-the-ground experiences witnessing how climate-driven shocks — such as floods, rising temperatures, and poor sanitation — are intensifying NTD transmission and deepening health inequities. Our work centers on translating local realities into informed advocacy by combining community engagement, education, creative communication, and youth leadership. CAN 1.5°C works closely with schools, universities, affected communities, and grassroots actors to raise awareness, document lived experiences, and co-create locally grounded solutions. We use creative advocacy tools such as storytelling, short documentaries, art-based activities, and youth-friendly educational materials to make complex climate–health links accessible and actionable. At the global level, CAN 1.5°C amplifies community voices through participation in international forums, cross-country collaborations, and policy-relevant dialogue. Our approach ensures that youth are not only participants, but leaders shaping conversations on climate resilience, health equity, and NTD elimination.

Vision

A world where climate change and Neglected Tropical Diseases are understood and addressed as deeply interconnected challenges, not treated in silos, and where youth-led action helps align health and climate efforts to build resilient, equitable communities.

Mission

To bridge the gap between climate action and Neglected Tropical Diseases by advancing integrated awareness, advocacy, and youth-led leadership. CAN 1.5°C works to challenge siloed approaches by aligning climate and health narratives, enabling smarter resource mobilization, and ensuring that communities most affected by climate-driven NTD risks are recognized, represented, and prioritized.
